Project Description

"Uttar Pradesh State Highway Authority (UPSHA) has undertaken the Upgradation development and maintenance of 1-A (the project road) through PPP on DBFOT basis The road from Farenda to Gonda via Dhani – Naugarh, Nepal border, Balrampur, Gonda has been designated as State Highway no. 1-A with its originating point at Farenda & terminal at Jarwal road (Junction point in km 44 of NH-28C). The Project road length is 234 Km. (4 lane – 87.77 Km., 2 lane – 146.23 Km.) and it runs through important town and district Headquaters of UP state and touches the Nepal border. There are many pilgrim places on this road i.e. Lumbini, Kushinagar, Shrawasti, Kapil Vastu, Patan Devi temple and Ayodhya. This also serves for transportation of stone metal from various queries falling along the India – Nepal Border. The road alignment passes through rolling terrain. Few sharp curves, reverse & compound curve and hair pin bends need improvement. The surface condition in about half the length is poor & developed patches & pot holes. Following are the structures which are proposed in the Detailed Report: Major Bridge - 11 nos. (Length of bridge varies from 76 m. To 185 m.) ROB - 2 nos. (1625 m and 1880 meter) Bypass - 21.125 Km. "
